Claim Types
StartClaims is deliberately not built around a single sector. A "claim" can be a legal claim, an insurance claim, an employment claim, a consumer claim, a data-rights claim, a scientific credit claim, or another structured assertion of entitlement or priority. StartClaims is not a law firm and does not replace lawyers, judges, adjusters, experts, or human judgment — its role is to make claims more structured, auditable, reproducible, and scalable. We see problems everywhere with access to justice, fair resolution of claims, and the resolution of scientific controversies, and hope to be part of a solution.
Domains we work in
-
Employment & platform work. Wage and working-time claims, account deactivation and suspension disputes, algorithmic-management disputes. This is our strongest domain of experience, not the limit of the company.
-
Insurance. Policy eligibility, coverage calculations, and payout formulas that need to be reproducible and auditable.
-
Consumer claims. Standardized redress across large numbers of similar, but not identical, cases.
-
Data & digital rights. Claims built on data access, algorithmic accountability, and evidence obtained through data-rights requests.
-
Scientific credit. Claims about mathematical priority, authorship, contribution, and what follows from a formal proof. We process Lean proofs and their dependencies to clarify the mathematical part of controversies; questions of interpretation, context, and credit remain open to human judgment.
-
Compensation programmes. Settlement funds and compensation schemes with formulas that must be applied consistently across thousands of claimants.
-
Mass and collective claims. Programmes where the legal theory, formula, and evidence requirements are shared, but each claimant's facts are not.
-
Contractual entitlements. Disputes that reduce to explicit conditions in a contract or policy.
-
Other rule-based claims. Any claim where entitlement follows from facts, evidence, and stated rules.

For professionals
Law firms, unions, claimant organizations, litigation funders, insurers, brokers, ombuds processes, consumer organizations, and other partners can:
-
encode reusable claim logic;
-
audit calculations;
-
standardize intake;
-
preserve provenance;
-
identify exceptional cases;
-
update many claims when a rule changes;
-
review reasoning instead of rebuilding it.
